The Rosenberg Library Museum in Galveston is hosting a show developed by the Friends of the Rosenberg Library and the College of the Mainland sculpture classes. The event will unveil various book sculptures crafted by students of the Fine Arts Program at the College of the Mainland. In this innovative method, books were used as building units to make complex structures. The books used in these projects were ones that did not sell in the Friends’ annual book sale and were not taken by the other nonprofit organizations.
Typically the Friends of the Rosenberg Library make sure to find takers for all the residual books that do not sell each year during their annual sale. Many books also will be distributed among clubs and nonprofit organizations and school groups. Book Sculpture pieces can be seen on the first floor of the Rosenberg Library from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. from Jan-26-29.
